The "TOYOTA MIRAIDON Project" is initiated by the volunteer group "Toyota Technical Association" within Toyota Motor Corporation. It aims to recreate the Pokémon "Mira-don" to scale, conveying the concepts of "Adult seriousness transforms into children's dreams" and "Dreams don't end as dreams, imagination shapes the future" to children. The project originated from Toyota Technical Association's observation of Mira-don's illustration while referencing 8,000 survey questionnaires from elementary school students in Toyota City for the 2023 theme "MIRAIMOBILITY (Future Mobility)."

As the theme of this event, "Mira-don" is a legendary Pokémon featured in Pokémon Purple. In the game, players can ride on its back and freely move around the wilderness. Toyota Technical Association believes Mira-don is the Pokémon that many children would like to see in MIRAIMOBILITY, "able to communicate with it like a friend and enjoy riding on its back," hence the collaboration with Pokémon Company to create the Mira-don model for MIRAIMOBILITY "TOYOTA Engineering Society MIRAIDON" within six months starting from June 2023.

This MIRAIMOBILITY reproduces the weight and size of the real Mira-don and can transform into "Driving Mode" and "Quadruped Mode."

"TOYOTA Engineering Society MIRAIDON" is scheduled for exhibition and test rides from March 15th to 17th (Friday to Sunday) from 11:00 to 21:00 at the Hibiya Courtyard of Tokyo Midtown. Tickets will be distributed on-site for entry on a first-come-first-served basis. Test riders must weigh under 65 kilograms.
